Expeditions
At mid-ocean ridge sites, the pressure of the seawater is immense and hydrothermal fluids are often more acidic than vinegar and hotter than molten lead. Scientists mount expeditions for weeks at a time to undertake research in these challenging and remote environments. Follow along with some of these expeditions at the following websites:
